WHARTON
WEDGE
DESIGN KIT

The Wedge Design Kit provides a structured yet flexible approach to Wharton’s visual identity, ensuring consistency across all creative outputs. Designed for Level 1 and Level 2 users, the Wedge Design Kit offers essential tools (including system fonts, predefined layouts, and simple graphic elements) allowing staff and in-house teams to create on-brand materials efficiently. This system maintains Wharton’s professional aesthetic while enabling adaptability for various communications.
The Grid and Its Role in Design
Our “tilted grid” system is the foundation for many design variations. It provides a unique and dynamic design approach for the School. The number of grid units in a layout may be increased for greater design flexibility. The angle of the grid may also be reversed.

How to Build the Grid:
- Create the Base Row: Draw three equal squares placed side-by-side in a horizontal row.
- Establish the Angle: Draw a single diagonal line starting from the bottom-left corner of the first square to the top-right corner of the third square. This line establishes the precise angle for the underlying grid.
- Build a 3×3 Module: Duplicate this entire group (the three squares and the diagonal line) two times, stacking them vertically to create a perfect 3-square by 3-square layout.
- Expand the System: Copy this completed 3×3 module horizontally and vertically to expand the overall grid system.

Learn about the brand guidelines for your specific group.
The Brand Guideline Sheet is included with each logo system. This essential resource offers a clear visual and technical breakdown of the logo architecture, including the approved color palette and specific usage requirements. Created with accessibility in mind, these guidelines empower all team members — regardless of design expertise — to apply the Wharton visual identity with precision, ensuring brand consistency across every platform. The PDF is editable (similar to an EPS file); just ask your vendor to open the file in their vector software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator or Figma).
